Just got this GameCube controller yesterday. I don't have a GameCube myself, but I should be able to play GameCube games on my computer with this and the connector I bought!

Was it one of the Wii U/Switch controller adapters? Because those work (almost) natively. I've used mine with Dolphin for Gamecube emulation.
I've got one of those adapters, yes. And it does work, it has a PC mode with it.
That's sweet! I use to have a few USB adapters as well, I still have a few and use the SNES controller USB for PokeMMO whenever I play it. I hope you get a lot of use from it
